Wolf Tec Center combines process development, materials analysis, and pre-production application testing under one roof. State-of-the-art testing equipment and comprehensive laboratory facilities enable the development, optimization, and validation of manufacturing processes for specialized soldering technologies, laser processing, and automated assembly.

Process development

Process validation and process development form the foundation of every automation solution we deliver. Before a machine is built, we ensure that the underlying manufacturing process is reliable and capable of meeting all specified requirements.

To achieve this, trials are carried out in our Tec Center using our customers' original components. Manufacturing processes are evaluated under realistic production conditions on our testing and demonstration systems. Feasibility is assessed, potential risks are identified, and process stability is verified. Where necessary, process parameters are refined until all requirements are consistently achieved.

The insights gained are incorporated directly into the design of the customer's production system.

This gives our customers greater planning reliability, reduces project risks, and ensures that every production system is built on a validated manufacturing process. As a result, commissioning runs more smoothly and the foundation for stable series production is established long before the machine is built.

Laboratory analysis

In addition to its process engineering facilities, the Tec Center features a fully equipped laboratory for the analysis and evaluation of manufacturing processes and their results.

Using state-of-the-art metallographic techniques, components can be precisely sectioned, mounted, ground, polished and, where required, etched. This reveals the material's microstructure and provides the basis for detailed analysis.

Metallographic examinations enable the assessment of solder wetting, weld penetration, material transitions, as well as pores and other irregularities. The results provide valuable insights into process quality and component performance.

The following analytical and testing methods, among others, are available for the investigation and evaluation of processes and components:

Pre-series production

At the Wolf Tec Center, pre-series production can begin even before the customer's production system is completed. To support this, we provide production equipment and manufacturing processes identical to those used in series production, enabling production under realistic operating conditions.

This enables products to be manufactured at an early stage, manufacturing processes to be further optimized, and valuable experience to be gained before series production begins. Potential issues are identified and resolved before the customer's machine is commissioned.

For our customers, this results in a shorter ramp-up phase, lower project risk, and valuable time savings throughout the entire project.
