Because of an incompleted mixture of the filler material with the basic material or a lack of machine cleanliness the transmission factor can vary. The transmission factor shows how much laser power is transmitted through the material. It is an essential factor for a constantly good quality. Wolf Produktionssysteme developed a transmission measuring device that measures with a comparable laser power density and wavelength as it is used in the laser welding machine itself.
